India is taking the recent incident in Pahalgam, orchestrated by Pakistan, very seriously. As a result, high-level meetings are being held across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also instructed the armed forces to decide for themselves the time, date, and manner of retaliation.
All these developments suggest that a direct confrontation with Pakistan may soon take place — in other words, preparations for war are underway.
Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India has intensified preparations to give a strong response to Pakistan, which harbors terrorism. All three branches of the Indian Armed Forces are on high alert to counter Pakistan’s actions and eliminate terrorism. The Indian Navy has stepped up exercises in its Exclusive Economic Zone in the Arabian Sea.
According to the Defence Department, the Navy has kept its warships on alert. In recent days, multiple anti-ship and anti-aircraft firings have taken place in the Arabian Sea. Indian Coast Guard ships are also deployed in forward areas near the international maritime boundary. The maritime border near the Gujarat coast is under tight surveillance. The Indian Navy is reinforcing its presence throughout the region.
The terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, has sparked outrage across the country. The entire nation is eagerly waiting to see when and how India will give a fitting response to Pakistan, the haven of terrorism. In the meantime, India’s three armed forces have already begun preparations. They have stated that they are ready to respond strongly to any enemy under any circumstances. For several days, the forces have been demonstrating their capabilities.
The Indian Navy had deployed its indigenous aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant, in the Arabian Sea — seen as a strategic signal amid the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. The deployment came after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. Prior to this, the Navy had posted on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Strength in unity, purposeful presence,” along with several hashtags.
The terrorist attack occurred on April 22 near the tourist site known as “Mini Switzerland” in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir. It claimed the lives of 26 people, most of whom were tourists. This was the deadliest attack in the Kashmir Valley since the Pulwama attack in 2019.
