The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on Thursday began the trial run of the ‘Namo Bharat’ train on the final stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor, with the train reaching Modipuram, according to an official statement.
As per the statement, the train was operated between Shatabdi Nagar and Modipuram during the trial. For the first time, the train passed through the underground section of Meerut—an important step toward providing high-speed rail connectivity between central areas of Delhi and Meerut.

Until now, the trial runs were limited to two separate sections—between New Ashok Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan on one end, and from Meerut South to Shatabdi Nagar on the other.
